Special Events Assistant (Part-Time)

Donor Relations Specialist

The role of the Partner Relations Specialist is initially to be the face of Asha Partners. This individual will fundraise based on both annual campaign goals and helping to grow the donor base. Additionally, this individual will also play a critical role in helping to implement fundraising events such as the Asha Partners annual gala. The Partner Relations Specialist will focus on funds for Micro-loans, Outreach, Education and Healthcare. The individual will have goals for the specific area of focus as well as general fund raising. The primary customer relationship manager tool the Partner Relations Specialist will use is Blackbaud/Raisers Edge, where the Partner Relations Specialist will be responsible for keeping track of the donor process (prospecting, cultivation, close, donor development) and updating existing contact information as needed. This individual will represent the organization at events, helping with all relevant logistics and working with the administration team to successfully complete events while being the face of the organization. Additional responsibilities include leading and developing volunteer teams and other administrative responsibilities as needed such as mailers and phone calls. This role will report to the Global CEO/Co-Founders and President.

Design Volunteer/Intern

Come use and further develop your design skills in order to communicate the mission of Asha Partners, share stories of those who are coming out of poverty and coming to know Christ across the globe!

COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop (Premiere & After Effects is a plus)
  • Graphic design, photo editing, video editing

Campus/Community Mobilization Volunteer/Intern

This intern will gain valuable experience in leadership and outreach by working with Asha Partners’ staff to organize campaigning events on campus or in the community. Campaigns will raise awareness about reaching the unreached for Christ and/or the poverty-related issues that Asha Partners faces in South Asia while fundraising to address these issues.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Passion for the work of Asha Partners and ability to relay the mission in an engaging way
  • Student who can demonstrate committed past or present involvement with student organizations, churches, or other community groups
  • Patient and willing to tackle large projects

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with other students, groups, and organizations to carry out at least one campaign per semester served as an intern
  • Meet with Asha Partners staff weekly or bi-weekly to grow in understanding of the ministry and plan campaigns; transition to performing more internship responsibilities at your campus

Development/Fundraising Volunteer/Intern

An organized, data-driven individual who loves to work both with people and behind the scenes. Responsibilities are flexible depending on talents and giftings of specific individuals. Will work with Asha Partners staff to create new fundraising initiatives, communicate projects to potential donors, and/or write grant applications.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Passion for the work of Asha Partners and ability to relay the mission and current operations in an engaging way
  • Excellent research skills
  • Highly professional written and oral communication
  • Teachable and eager to try new methods to reach new contacts

Missionary Mobilization Volunteer/Intern

A creative, entrepreneurial, and focused individual with a passion for international missions! Prior missions experience highly preferred in order to effectively assist in developing our missionary mobilization program and engage others in the cause!

Unreached Outreach Volunteer/Intern

An individual with a passion for reaching DFW unreached immigrants and refugees with the Gospel in a culturally-appropriate way.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Some knowledge of immigration and cross-cultural engagement
  • An eagerness to learn and plan creatively to work in sensitive contexts
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; a readiness to take charge when necessary

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help plan training events and recruit outreach volunteers
  • Organize outreach initiatives to the unreached in the DFW area (one event per semester served as intern)
  • Build genuine relationships with unreached people groups that you meet during outreach

Office Support Volunteer/Intern

A teachable and flexible individual eager to assist with data entry, management of spreadsheets and document revisions, compilation of publications, preparation for mail outs, organization, etc. Attention to detail and the ability to take initiative are a must.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to readily understand and implement instructions
  • Detail-oriented, with an eye for error and discrepancies

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data entry and revisions (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, contact management systems, etc)

Special Events Volunteer/Intern

This organized, task-driven, and flexible individual will assist however needed in preparing for conferences, seminars, and other Asha Partners’ events throughout the year designed to equip believers to reach the unreached for Christ. Peak time for special events is in Spring and Fall, but interns are accepted all year.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Passion for equipping others to understand Islam and reach the unreached
  • Experience planning and volunteering at conferences, seminars, and fundraising events
  • Strong organizational skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting in event promotion to individuals, churches, and other organizations through phone calls, emails, and mail-outs
  • Preparing event materials such as flyers, programs, name badges, etc.
  • Helping register interested individuals
  • Other tasks that come up as needed
