Threads of opportunity can change everything.

Eight years ago, Mishi and her husband were struggling to make ends meet. With two daughters and a son to care for, their income was uncertain and often too small to meet even their basic needs. Every day was a test of endurance.

Then Mishi heard about our microloan program. The idea of building a better future sparked hope in her heart, and she quickly applied. Before receiving her first loan, Mishi completed our two-month financial literacy training, learning how to manage money wisely and plan for growth. With her new skills, she made a bold decision—to start a weaving business inspired by her father’s work and her own passion for the craft.

Her journey began with a single loom, purchased through her first microloan. Day after day, Mishi poured her energy into perfecting the art of weaving cotton fabrics, working tirelessly to meet orders and attract new customers. Little by little, her reputation grew, and she reinvested her profits back into the business.

Today, Mishi’s life looks completely different. She now owns 15 looms and employs around 100 villagers from her community, providing income and pride to dozens of families. Her cotton fabrics are sought after in the capital and even worn by senior government leaders. One of her daughters is now married, and her son-in-law has also joined the thriving loom business.

Through her hard work and the support of microloans, Mishi has woven a story of resilience, growth, and hope for her family and many others. Mishi’s story is a testament to the power of opportunity. What began as a single loan—and a dream—has grown into a sustainable enterprise that uplifts an entire community. And it all started because someone like you believed in her potential.
