Can you imagine going to your first day of school at age 12?  For many young girls in rural South Asia, going to school is just a dream, as they must pass a basic literacy entrance exam to even enter the crowded public education system.  Many who don’t enter school by adolescence are married off to older men at that young age in order to ease the financial burden on their families who are struggling to provide for their basic needs.

Because of you, girls like 13 year old Shafali are attending school for the first time. In communities where child marriage once seemed inevitable, education is now opening doors that were once sealed shut.

Shafali’s entire trajectory in life has been radically changed for the better because of someone like you.

Although Shafali’s parents worked hard to provide the best they could, they never learned to read or write themselves, and Shafali was one of those without the opportunity to pursue an education—until her parents took out a microloan and a free school opened up in her village through our programs!  She was thrilled to be able to start her education–opening new doors of opportunity for her whole life ahead.  Thank you for being part of Shafali’s story and for giving hope to so many young girls like her!

Will you help change the life of another adolescent girl like Shafali by sponsoring a micro-loan, a free village school, or by providing a scholarship for an adolescent girl?
