Diya’s parents arranged a marriage for her when she was only 15 years old to a man who had only a bamboo shack. Living for years with nothing, Diya was excited when the Asha Partners’ team members came to her village offering help.
From her very first small loan 4 years ago, Diya and her husband have worked incredibly hard at raising corn and other crops, as well as raising livestock including dairy cows, rabbits, pigeons and chickens.Â

In the past 4 years, Diya has taken and repaid 4 loans of increasing amounts, enabling her family to have enough to eat, and income from their crops and animals. Diya says that God has blessed her family, and because of that, she hopes that she can grow their businesses even larger and even dreams of sending her two sons to college.Â
